Have you ever wondered what exactly your Soul is? Many people believe that we have a soul but rarely question what
it is or how it came to be. There are some very fuzzy and ambiguous thoughts around what the Soul is. When I asked my Higher
Guidance about the Soul I received a very interesting answer.
First
of all I want to be clear about the use of the terms Soul and Spirit. You might think that Soul and Spirit can be used interchangeably;
but they are not the same things. Spirit is loosely used to describe the opposite of physical, but the precise meaning of
the term Spirit in regards to the creation of experience is the "pulse" of energy that animates everything we know
of. Spirit is the energy in all things. Spirit is in the trees, the oceans and the galaxies. Everything.
My Guidance described Spirit as the energy that animates or activates an intention of God. Thus all of
reality is pulsating with Spirit.
Now here's something to think about;
is Spirit part of God or is Spirit simply an energy used by God to manifest an intention? My Guidance says
it's the latter and furthermore says that Spirit is impartial and without unique qualities of its own.
The Soul is an individuated aspect of God
The Soul, on the other hand, is actually
a unique individuated aspect of God specifically created to explore a thought form. Stay with me as we clarify more about
this and you'll see why it's important to know about your Soul.
God is All That Is and in order for God to have an experience there had to be the creation of a something other than All
That Is for a point of reference. This idea is discussed at length in the book Conversations with God by Neale Donald Walsch (the link will take you directly to this book on Amazon.com).
For the purpose of experiencing, Souls are "created" as an individuated and unique aspect of God.
Each Soul is imbued with characteristics of God specifically to explore the experience that God wants to know about. Some
of these characteristics are what we would commonly recognize: compassion, logic, empathy, leadership, etc. Some of
these characteristics are not so commonly recognized, and in fact, may not be recognizable by us in our conscious human awareness.
The combination of these characteristics in the Soul is infinitely unique just as each individual human is infinitely unique.
Think of sunlight as an analogy of the Light that God shines. Each Soul
would be a ray from infinite spectrum of Light of God and would have a distinctive color, quality or expression from this
Source. We often here expressions like, "shine your light" or "don't hide your light under a bushel",
which are really references to the Light of your Soul.
What is the unique aspect of
your soul?
Your Soul carries with it some unique characteristics of God. As you live
this earth life the gifts of your Soul's characteristics will be revealed to you. How? You will begin to recognize the
unique quality of Light energy that is you by what you bring to every situation in your life. In fact, you cannot help
but do that because it is who you are. Your experience is reflected back to God through your unique facets of God' Light
(your Soul's characteristics) of which you were made.
Parents will
often say that their child was just "born" with a certain essence about them. I could sense the essence of each
of my four children from the moment of their birth. That essence of who they are has remained constant throughout their childhood.
It is the Light they shine.
Your Soul's Gift of Light
Think for a moment about what your core essence is - what are the specials gifts that you have and that you are?
The words that you come up with will be describing your Soul. Identifying this unique expression of your Soul's Light
energy is one of the most comforting and empowering realizations that you will ever have in your life because it will help
you to know what you're here to do.
The fact is there is no one else
who can shine the Light of your Soul exactly the way that you do. Just like the sun, the rays of light emanate from the same
powerful source but they are unique rays, nonetheless. If your "ray" is missing, then the full spectrum of light
isn't manifest. In a nutshell, your job here on earth is to shine the Light of your Soul!
