We are all participating in what Carl Jung called
the continuing incarnation of the Self.
Let’s place this emerging human in the context of planetary evolution
of 2012. We can see that every system is breaking down—health care, environmental, governmental, and so forth. We also
notice, if we look carefully, that innovations and creative solutions are arising in every field. Although disconnected, underfunded,
and undercommunicated, they are nonetheless here now and do function.
We learn from Ilya Prigogine, the Nobel prize—winning
chemist, that when systems become more dysfunctional, they tend to use ever more of their energy in handling their own dysfunctionalities.
At the same time, mutations or social innovations crop up throughout the system. Nature has a tendency to converge upon that
which is creative, to manifest new whole systems at a higher degree of order. We are not very far, right now, from the possibility
of the nonlinear, exponential interaction of innovating elements, leading to the transformation of our social systems. The
very crisis we are facing are causing innovations and breakthrough solutions, which are approaching a breakthrough in “co-intelligence,”
in the collective capacity of that which is emergent, compassionate, and creative.
We can imagine that the nonlinear,
exponential interaction of innovations that work could speed up time and cause an apparent sudden shift at precisely the time
frame of 2012. www.barbaramarxhubbard.com
